Coffee Skills

This half day training course will give you the necessary skills to prepare and serve espresso coffee in restaurants, bars and cafes using commercial espresso machines.

On-Site Requirements:
  • Espresso machines that are operational (2 students per machine)
  • Coffee Bean grinder
  • Coffee Beans
  • Milk (3L per student)
  • Various coffee cups/glasses/saucers/spoons

Duration: 4hrs

Pre-Requisites: There is no pre-requisite for this course.

Who should do this course: People working in food and beverage

Course Content:  

  • Select and grind coffee 
  • Extract coffee 
  • Texture milk 
  • Serve and present espresso coffee
  • Clean and maintain an espresso machine 
  • Efficiency of the barista 
  • Customer service
Assessment: There is no formal assessment for this course.

Outcome: On successful completion, participants receive a Certificate of Attendance in “Coffee Skills”.
 
Individual Requirements:
  • Pen
  • 1 form of Photo ID (i.e. Passport, Drivers licence, Photo ID card, Student card)

Please note: As of 13th December, 2008 Proof of Age cards are no longer valid forms of photographic identification. All Proof of Age cards must be changed over to the NSW Photo Card available from the Roads and Traffic Authority of NSW.
