Do I need RSA and RCG outside of NSW?
RSA and RCG is mandatory in NSW. The NSW RSA course is recognised in all states except Victoria and Queensland. In Victoria, you can do a free online refresher: www.consumer.vic.gov.au/refresher In Queensland, you will need to attend another course.
Are other state’s RSA’s recognised in NSW?
Currently RSA trained in NSW is recognised in most other states of Australia. If you are from outside NSW and have an RSA Certificate from another state you can do the RSA with TCP and we will give you a $10 discount when you bring in your other Certificate as proof.
I’m under 18—can I still do the RSA course?
Anyone from the age of 16 years is permitted to attend RSA training, however it is illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to serve alcohol.
What happens if my card is lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed?
You can complete an application form (Replacement of a WorkCover Construction Induction Card, form number ACC06) and submit to WorkCover with the associated fee of $30, together with proof of training details, identification and a signed statutory declaration. Is the certificate valid for use nationally?
As of the 1st of September, the General Induction card is recognised nationally.
What is the difference between the “Green Card” and “White Card”?
Previously, participants who completed the OHS Induction course were issued with a “green card”. With legislation changes, participants are now issued with a “white card”.
How long is the card valid for?
This card does not expire, however if have not worked on a construction for 2 years or more Workcover recommends attending a course to update your skills and knowledge.
How long is the photo ID card valid for?
All Photo ID Cards are valid for three years. To requalify as a Traffic Controller you will need to complete the training and assessments to receive a valid Photo ID Card.
What is the driver licence requirement?
All persons seeking to be trained in the RTA Traffic Control using a Stop/ Slow Bat are required to hold, or to have previously held, a minimum of a Provisional “P2” Driver’s Licence (Green P’s).
Persons seeking to be trained in the RTA Traffic Control using a Stop/Slow Bat (Grey or Blue ticket) are required to:
- Hold or have held a NSW Provisional (P2) Drivers Licence (Green P) or its equivalent or;
- Hold or have held, within the past two years, a (NSW) STOP/SLOW (Grey or Blue) ticket.
Note that an equivalent Drivers Licence can include:
- NSW unrestricted drivers licence Class R1 (rider) or;
- A licence from another Australian State or Territory that is the equivalent or better than the abovementioned P2 or R1 licences.
- Persons who do not hold a current licence, but have held one in the past, will need to provide proof to the Trainer before attempting the training.
What if I have an overseas drivers licence?
If the date of issue is 12 months or more from the date you are attending a training course and it is not a learner’s permit then you may be able to attend the training.
If the licence is not written in English an International Driving Permit or an English translation must be also carried with the licence

How do I convert my Grey Traffic Controllers Photo ID card to a Blue Traffic Controllers Card?
Persons holding a Grey Traffic Controllers – Non Construction Card and who have completed their NSW WorkCover OHS General Construction Induction training or recognised equivalent can now convert their Traffic Controller - Non Construction card to the Blue Traffic Controller Photo Id card.

What is the difference between Apply First Aid and Senior First Aid?
Previously, WorkCover NSW approved Senior First Aid for delivery. Since then, changes have taken place and first aid approval is now issued to RTO’s only by each state’s registering body – VETAB in NSW. The new first aid is titled Apply First Aid HLTFA301B.
I got my First Certificate almost a year ago, and I was told that I should do a resuscitation course each year for the next few years ... is this true?
It is not a legal requirement to complete a resuscitation course each year. However, the Australian Resuscitation Council (www.resus.org.au) recommends that first aiders should be able to demonstrate their resuscitation skills on a regular basis. An annual CPR renewal may also be required by certain industries and may be identified in industry regulations or licensing requirements. TCP recommends that a refresher course is done every year to ensure that a first aider is able to effectively perform resuscitation
I have always had a first aid certificate until 4 years ago. Do I have to do the whole course again?
Yes, first aid knowledge and skills are frequently changed therefore a new course needs to be completed.
My first aid certificate expired 2 months ago. Am I still current?
Unfortunately no, you will need to complete another first aid course.
Why does my certificate need to be renewed every three years?
It is a requirement in most states and territories that a workplace first aider must renew their first aid certificate at least every three years to ensure that first aid skills are current.
What does LF & LO mean?
LF means any and every Forklift except for an Order Picker/Stock Picker Forklift.
LO means Order Picker/Stock Picker. With an Order Picker/Stock Picker, the operator elevates with the forkarms and load.
Do I have to pay to renew my Licence?
Yes the Forklift licence must be renewed every 5 years.
I have a forklift licence gained overseas. Is this enough to drive within Australia?
We understand you may be an experienced driver however Workcover NSW does not currently recognize a licence from outside of Australia therefore you will be required to attend the course to gain a NSW Forklift licence.
Can I practice at work?
Yes, provided you are supervised by the holder of a Forklift Licence.
Do you get me a job?
We cannot guarantee a job, however we would be delighted to refer you toan agent who may be able to assist you to find work.
Can Centerlink pay for me?
Centrelink does not pay directly, please register with your local Job Network Agent. Your Employment Consultant will make the booking with us on your behalf and arrange payment with us directly.
Can I pay my Package in instalments?
Unfortunately we cannot offer this service, we try to always offer value for money and keep course fees affordable such as our packages deals which offer reduced prices. Payment of course fees are made at the time of booking.
Can I pay by cheque?
Unfortunately we are unable to accept personal, business or travellers cheques on the day of training, payment can be made at the time of booking using a credit card, EFTPOS or cash. Invoices and acceptance of company cheques is by prior arrangement only.
